Marmot, badger and deer excursion | UNESCO Biosphere Entlebuch

Description

Marmots and badgers live in earthworks, while deer inhabit woodland and meadows. You’ll join two experts in exploring the kingdom of furry animals, first tracking down marmots and badgers and then learning about the life of fallow deer in the enclosure.

  • Requirements: easy walk in the foothills of the Alps suitable for families with children from 8 years of age

  • Meeting point: 8.30 am Marbachegg lower terminus

  • Duration: approx. 5.5 h, including 2 h walking, end of excursion (Schangnau, Rüttimoos) approx. 2 pm

  • Equipment: sturdy footwear, rain protection, picnic (lunch)

  • Leader: Kari Schöpfer (from the “Schratte Süd” hunting area) and Walter Bieri (deerkeeper and hunter)

  • Cost: CHF 20.00, CHF 10.00 (children aged 8-16), CHF 30.00 (families), excl. aerial cableway
