Come to the Heirassa Festival in Weggis and enjoy four glorious days in the presence of the most popular Swiss folk musicians. See more than 40 high-calibre ensembles playing over 100 hours of folk music across 17 venues.
The Swiss musicians Carlo Brunner and Willi Valotti are responsible for the programme.
The 20th Heirassa Festival will take place from Thursday, June 19, 2025 to Sunday, June 22, 2025 in Weggis. The focus is on Alois Schilliger (1924 to 2004). The Weggis native was one of the greatest Swiss folk musicians. In 1954, he composed his famous "Heirassa-Polka", a Rhineland polka. In 1959, together with Walter Grob (accordion) and Kaspar Muther (clarinet and saxophone), he founded the folk band Heirassa, which thus had a house title.
