Karst & caves excursion | UNESCO Biosphere Entlebuch
Description
The kilometre-long expanse of karst of the Schrattenfluh looks like a glacier. Follow its deep gorges and discover mysterious dolines and fascinating karst caves.
Requirements: round walk over sharp-edged limestone cliffs suitable for families with children from 8 years of age. Sturdy footwear and sure-footedness a must (500 m elevation gain, cave descent through shaft with 8 m ladder).
Meeting place: 9.15 am Sörenberg tourist office
Duration: approx. 6 h, including approx. 3.5 h walking time (500 m climb), end of the excursion (Wagliseichnubel) at approx. 3 pm
Equipment: sturdy footwear, rain protection, warm clothing for cave visit, picnic and drink (lunch). Helmets and lamps provided.
