Stopping fee for buses

The license plate must be entered as follows: LU12345 (Without country code, special characters, or spaces)

Attention: The license plate on the booking must match that of the tour bus!

The stopping fee costs 100 Swiss Francs. It includes one disembarking and one boarding process and up to 24 hours of parking in the Brüelmoos or Rösslimatt parking spaces. If only a single stop is required (only disembarking or only boarding), a reduced rate of 75 Swiss Francs applies. This also includes the fee for parking in the Rösslimatt or Brüelmoos parking spaces.

We accept the following payment methods: Mastercard, VISA, American Express, Diners Club, UnionPay, Google Pay, Apple Pay, and Twint.

Purchases on account, prepayment, or payment on site are not possible.

Anyone arriving without a valid stop permit from April 1, 2025, will be turned away by the traffic service at the stop locations in downtown Lucerne. Violations of the parking service's instructions will be reported to the Lucerne police. ATTENTION: A stop permit cannot be booked retroactively at the stop locations. Tour buses without a stop permit can use the "Landenberg/Alpenquai," "Rösslimatt Kriens," or "Brüelmoos" tour bus parking areas to make a booking. Stopping and parking at other public spaces or bus stops for regular buses is not permitted for tour buses and will be reported to the police.

The fee applies to all vehicles within the ‘company bus/coach’ category, which is defined in the “Ordinance on the Technical Requirements for Road Vehicles in Art. 11 para. 2 of the Swiss Con-federation” (i.e., single or double-decker buses, generally with 30-70 seats). All other vehicles may not stop in the spaces affected by the stopping fee - not even with a fee paid on their licence plate.

The reservation system will be launched on 1 April 2025. Bookings can be made from 1 March 2025 and then generally a maximum of 4 months before the stopping process in Lucerne.

As these are blackout dates, bookings at Schwanenplatz cannot be made on the following days:
